Lifeline of help for city carers

Have your say

A LIFELINE centre is reaching out to more carers.

Carers in Houghton are being given the chance to get involved in Caring with Confidence sessions at the new Primary Care Centre in Brinkburn Crescent.

The sessions, hosted by Sunderland Carers’ Centre, have now been running for four years with about 500 carers taking part already.

But the organisers of the course are hoping more people will take up the help being offered to them.

If you look after a family member, partner or friend who is ill, disabled or frail sign up to one of the introduction sessions taking place tomorrow from 11am – 2pm.

Lunch will be provided as part of the course.

Caring with Confidence courses helps unpaid carers make a positive difference to their life and that of the person they care for.

They are aimed at helping carers develop skills and knowledge for their caring role.
