Junior cricket: Murton Under-15s on fire in derby triumph against Seaham Park

Josh Greenfield, with nine fours, Anthony Blackmore, with six fours, and Liam Potts, with seven boundaries) all retired with unbeaten half-centuries as Murton posted 170-0 in 20 overs.

Seaham Park were then ruthlessly dismissed for 22, D.Kell top-scoring with seven.

Josh Wilson, Nathan Peel, Greenfield and Blackmore all struck twice.

Dawdon defeated Easington by four wickets in Group Three.

Ryan Briggs (13) and Ewan Archer (12) top-scored in Easington’s 83-9, with Dylan Haddon (2), Drew Ganley (2), Jack Cahill, Dylan Colledge and J. Tisseman all taking wickets.

Dawdon lost three quick wickets in their reply, but Haddon (40) and Lennon Richards (30) steered them home, ending on 115-4, with Briggs, Breward and Luke Marr all striking.

Miles Birbeck (54, with nine fours and a six) and Tom Lawson (50, with four boundaries) steered Hetton Lyons to a derby victory over a young Eppleton side in the Ken Ferguson Memorial Trophy.

Batting first, Lyons rattled up 159-5 from 20 overs as Callan Salkeld added 17, Logan Barton 16 and Jack Hutchinson 12. Layla Tipton took 2-21, with Paul Lawson also striking.

Eppleton could only muster 87 from their 20 overs as Jake Pratt top-scored with 25, including four boundaries, backed by 17 apiece from Tipton and Lawson, plus 13 from Edward Brown. Alex Dreze bagged 3-15 for Lyons, with reece McBride and Barton also among the wickets.

Boldon held on to win by four runs against Marsden in the Don Lyons Memorial Trophy.

Frankie Kilner (42), Fraser Longstaff (19) and Oliver Hughes (16no) helped Boldon to 116-4. Marsden put up a good fight and fell just short on 112-6, led by Corey Johns (23) and D.Price (44).

Kilner took 3-4 and Ethan Elsworth grabbed 2-23.
