Jordan Pickford reacted on social media to Everton's win over Newcastle United '“ after being taunted for 90 minutes by visiting fans at Goodison Park.

The former Sunderland goalkeeper helped his team win 1-0 last night.

Newcastle fans booed Washington-born Pickford's every touch during the Premier League game.

Pickford, while still at the Stadium of Light, famously celebrated United's relegation with a tweet two years ago which read: "We're staying up, they're doing down ... we're staying up, they're going down. #whatachant #safc #gettheraveon."

And that post wasn't forgotten by visiting fans at Goodison Park.

Pickford, signed by Everton for £25million in the wake of Sunderland's relegation last season, jubilantly reacted to his team's win at the final whistle.

The 24-year-old posted a photograph of himself celebrating on Instagram with a captain which read: "Great 3 points tonight. No better feeling than keeping them quiet. #sendthemin #neverstopraving #everton."
