An inquest will open tomorrow into the death of a 66-year-old man found dead on a Durham playing field on Saturday.

John O’Brien, from Newton Hall, was discovered by a member of the public on a football field off Carr House Drive, Newton Hall, at 6.40am.

The inquest will open at Crook Coroner’s Court at 10.30am on Tuesday.

Durham Constabulary confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
