Police investigating the theft of a television from a Wearside supermarket have released images of a man they would like to trace.

At around 8.25am on Wednesday, March 20, police received a report of a theft from Asda at the Galleries Shopping Centre, in Washington.

In the early hours of the morning, a man entered the supermarket and picked up a television, before leaving the store without paying.

An investigation is ongoing, and as part of their inquiries police have identified a man they would like to speak to.

He was in the store at the time of the offence and could have valuable information that may assist officers.
