The Sunderland boss has recalled Bryan Oviedo, Dylan McGeouch, Luke O'Nien, Duncan Watmore and Jerome Sinclair following Saturday's abandoned fixture with Accrington Stanley.

Reece James, Lynden Gooch, Aiden McGeady, Josh Maja and Adam Matthews are the five players who have dropped out.

But the Sunderland side has left some Black Cats supporters scratching their heads, with many coming to the conclusion that O'Nien will start as a right-back.

Here's how some supporters reacted on social media:

@airey87: Oviedo LCB ??? Or a midfielder at RB??

@camdodds16: 3 at the back?

@RobHadden: Who’s playing where? I’m baffled!

@L_Coad: O’Nien right back?

@Safcgolfer75: 3-5-2 with Oviedo in back 3??

@DanielJenks89: Good to see Catts back in the squad. We have missed him in recent weeks

@thepazdog: Watmore hat trick easy. Sinclair 2. Standard power yellow card.

@Parkersafc: Hoping O'Nien plays right back. Little experiment but might be a chance for him to get a little run in the team whilst Matthews is out and we have no other recognised right back #safc

@RobHadden: Seems quite odd when we have mumba and James as options. Ah well

@ILxHpr: Is Gooch injured or dropped?
