Ice warning to North East drivers to take extra care
Drivers have been warned to take extra care on the roads this morning as icy patches.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice which will remain in place until 12pm this afternoon.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: "Icy stretches are likely to form on Monday evening and into Tuesday morning."
Drivers are being urged to ensure they allow extra time for their journey.
