Hunt for raiders after break-ins

POLICE are hunting thieves after a series of raids in just one night.

Raiders struck overnight on Thursday and Friday in East Boldon, targeting sheds and houses.

Several electrical items were taken from an address on Yellow Leas Farm, including two laptops, a video camera and a hard drive. A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the burglary and released on bail.

A window was damaged on Front Street after thieves attempted to force it open, and a shed on the same street was damaged after thieves broke in before making off emptyhanded.

Police are asking anyone who has information to contact them on 101 ext 69191, quoting log numbers 387, 119 and 445, 16/05/14, or by calling the Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
