The Las Vegas-themed day saw a string of awards given out for the best designs while visitors had tattoos, piercings and body modifications carried out.

People were greeted by showgirls and traders, while tattoo artists dressed in American-style fancy dress as part of this year’s theme.

The event attracted tattooists from as far afield as South Africa and the United Arab Emirates, the south coast of England and the tip of Scotland.

The event was organised by Eddie Hardiman, of the Horden-based Eddie’s Tattoo Studio.

His daughter Trudy Hardy, 42, who helps run the shop, said: “It went really well.

“It was a great turnout and everyone was in great spirits, maybe because it was such a beautiful day.

“The categories were all really strong and the work that has been on show has been fantastic.”
