A GROUP representing people living in the country said the Government must work with communities over housing issues.
The Countryside Alliance has welcomed an announcement of £300million of new funding to build up to 15,000 affordable homes and bring 5,000 empty ones back into use.
Executive chairman Barney White-Spunner said: “There is a real need for more affordable housing in our countryside.
“Extra funding to build more affordable homes and help rural families is very welcome.
“But local communities must be engaged in shaping the areas they live in.”
