Houghton bush blaze leaves behind trail of damage

ARSONISTS who set light to shrubbery have left behind a large repair bill after the fire spread.

The blaze happened at 6.10pm on Thursday, April 2, after a bush outside a house in Helmsley Close, in Penshaw was set on fire.

The fire caused considerable damage to a fence, trees and guttering.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
