And forecasters with the Met Office say they expect it to continue, although there could be showers later on in the week.
Forecasters are predicting that this evening will be dry with long clear spells and light winds across the North East this evening and overnight.
However the odd mist patch may affect some coastal parts.

And Tuesday to Thursday should be mostly dry and very warm with long sunny spells, but with the odd shower possible on Wednesday and Thursday.
