A HOSPICE has received a £1,000 boost.
St Cuthbert’s was given the money by the Co-op Community Fund.
The grant will go towards the hospice’s planned respite service, helping families to cope with the effects of life-limiting illness.
The Co-op Community Fund provides grants to thousands of organisations.
Committee member Richard Hodgson visited the Durham City hospice to present the cheque to its clinical services manager, Fiona Vallis.
He said: “It’s a privilege to be able to help the care of local people.”
Mrs Vallis said: “We are thrilled with the grant from the Co-op Community Fund.
“They have been highly supportive of us in the past and their generosity will help many people at St Cuthbert’s.”
