Hold-ups on Sunderland road after smash
Drivers faced delays after a crash on a busy Sunderland road this afternoon.
Two cars collided on the eastbound A690 Durham Road at East Herrington shortly before 2pm.
The eastbound carriageway was blocked and there were knock-on delays westbound as drivers heading into the city centre made their way around the scene.
The North East Ambulance Service was called but a spokeswoman said no-one had been hurt.
