Tomorrow at St Micheal and all Angels’ Church, Houghtonm, there will be an evening recital with Dario Llanso Javierre, a Spanish pianist who is giving a series of performances. Dario specialises in contemporary piano repertoire. Admission is £8. For more information visit www.stmichaels-hls.org.uk

Eppleton Cricket Club hosted another excellent junior Halloween party last Friday night at the Church Road ground. All the children and parents who attended had a great night, with lots of games going on throughout the night.

Moorsley is holding its first Armistice Day commemoration tomorrow in the Memorial Peace Garden on Moorsley Road. If you would like to attend be there by 10.30am. Memorial crosses will be available on a first-come-first-served-basis for installation in the garden at 10.45am. Tea and coffee will be served in the Hut.

Hetton and Eppleton Community Hall in Front Street will be holding a charity coffee morning in aid of the Children’s Society on Friday from 10 am to noon. Everyone is welcome.

Remembrance service in ELCAPs memorial garden will be heldtomorrow from 10.45am. Everyone is welcome and a buffet will be available.

South Hylton Local History Society will hold its next meeting in the Tansy Centre on Monday, November 16, at 7pm. Guest speaker wil be Phil Curtis with Sunderland Between the Wars. Entrance to this very popular meeting is £1.50, which includes a door raffle and tea or coffee and biscuits. You can support the History Society by becoming a member of the society. Annual subscriptions are £4.

There will be a special memorial service in South Hylton Independent Methodist Church on Sunday at 6pm. This is for those who have lost loved ones over the last year.

Go along to the Tansy Centre at 10am tomorrow and support the fortnightly coffee morning. This will be followed at noon by the luncheon club. To help with catering, contact Edna on 01915453910 to book your place. The cost is £3.50 for a two-course meal followed by tea/.coffee.

Tickets are available for the pantomime Sleeping Beauty on December 8 in the Tansy Centre. Doors will open at 6pm. Tickets, available from the Tansy Centre, are £3 for adults and £1.50 for children.
