The 2nd Herrington Scout Group will be holding its next jumble sale on Friday , November 13, at 7 pm and is appealing for any unwanted saleable items. Members can sell almost anything, especially bric-a-brac, clean clothing, footware, handbags, toys, games, books etc. Scout HQ in Crow Lane(behind the Board Inn) is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 7pm and 8pm. If you have time, drop off any items during this time or call 4162036 to arrange a collection from the Herrington area only.

ANCHOR housing, Oakfield Court, East Herrington, holds bingo nights on a Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 7pm with a jackpot. There is also Macmillan coffee morning every Wednesday between 10am to 11am to which all are welcome. During the morning there are a couple of games of bingo, tea or coffee for a small donation. A domino night is held every Friday at 6.30pm.

Holy Rosary Karate Club meets in Holy Rosary Church onMondays from 5pm to 6pm. For more details, ringPaula Sumner on 07906441778. Karate sessions are also held in Farringdon Academy Inspires Primary School from Friday from 3.30pmm to 4.30pm.

A hundred and seventy-six years of Methodist Church worship at the Crow Lane, Middle Herrington, premises will be celebrated on Sunday with a special service at 10.30am by Keith Willis, a local preacher from Chester-le-Street Methodist Circuit. Refreshmenst will follow in the schoolroom.
