Jack and Isla Scott, both Lego enthusiasts, are preparing their pieces for the Herrington Village Show this coming Saturday. The children’s section of the show has three categories Potato people, decorated stones or pebbles and the ever popular Lego model. The section has cash prizes and is also sponsored by Olivers Dental Studio, who provide additional prize packs. Entries for all sections of the show held at the Scout Hut in Crow Lane Middle Herrington can be benched on Friday evening and before 11.30am on show day.

Lakeside Residents’ Association will be holding its fourth AGM tomorrow from 2pm-4pm in Lakeside Community Centre. Sunderland’s Mayor and Mayoress will be attending together with local councilors, priests, police and Gentoo representatives.

There will be a free buffet and the chairman will give a presentation of the association’s achievements.

The AGM of Sunderland Embroiderers’ Guild will be held at St Aidan’s Parish Centre, New Herrington, on Saturday, September 19, at 2pm.

Members of Middle Herrington Methodist Church have an early opportunity to meet their new minister, The Reverend Steven Hill, when he leads worship fo r the first time at their Crow Lane premises this Sunday at 10.30m. All are welcome and refreshments will be served after the service.
