The Herrington Village Show Group met Tuesday August 18 at 7pm in the Scout Hut, Crow Lane, Middle Herrington, to finalise arrangements for the show on Saturday, September 5.
The organising committee is an ad hoc group of local societies,groups and individuals. Anyone interested in carrying on the tradition of village shows is welcome to attend. Schedules are now available. A big effort is being put into promote the children’s section which includes a Lego model, decorated pebbles or stone and the novelty creature made from garden produce.
South Forum will hold its annual free community fun day tomorrow, from 11am to 2pm. There will be lots of activities for children to take part in, including multi-activity arena, bouncy castle, soft play bus, glitter tattoos, outdoor board games, cakes, tombola, raffle plus much more. Refreshments will be available. This will also be the launch of the new Community Cafe in the Jubilee Centre so pop down grab a coffee and a slice of cake and let the kids go wild.
The AGM of Sunderland Embroiderers’ Guild will be held at St Aidan’s Parish Centre, New Herrington, on Saturday, September 19, at 2pm.
