Sunderland Antiquarian Society’s next meeting at St George’s United Reformed Church, on the corner of Stockton Road and Belvedere Road, is on tonight at 7.30pm. Doors open at 7pm. To The Workhouse Born – A Child’s life in 19th Century Sunderland is the title of the talk to be given by Norman Kirtlan. The next Lovell Lecture will be held on Monday, April 25, from 1pm-3pm at Donnison School, Church Walk. With Havelock to Lucknow is the title of talk to be given by Stuart Miller. Entrance is £3 members £2.50, which includes refreshments.
Hendon History Group will meet on Thursday, April 28, at the Back on the Map Hub, Hendon’s former Carnagie Library, Villette Road, at 6.30pm. There will be an update of Hendon past and present group projects. Everyone is welcome.
A Big Family Fun Run will be held on Saturday, April 30. Activities will start at 1pm with the runs starting from 4pm. There will be a 1.5k and a 3k run suitable for all ages and abilities.
