Sunderland Museum will host the Fairtrade Partnershop’s One World Party on Saturday from 11am to 3pm. It will be a celebration of world cultures with fairtrade products, world music, food and family activities.

Visually Impaired Reading Group meets in Sunderland City Library on Fri day from 10.30am to 11.45am. The group meets monthly, new members are welcome to share their love of books.

Nifty Fifties will meet in Sunderland City Library and Arts Centre on Thursday from 1.30pm to 2.30pm. For a talk on herbal teas and a sampling session. Entrance is £2.50 which includes refreshments. Ring 561 1235 for further information.

Children’s book illustrator Holly Sterling will be in Sunderland City Library tomorrow from 2.30 to 3.30pm. She will be showing you how to create characters as part of this year’s Big Draw event – Every drawing tells a story

Hendon, East End and part of Grangetown ward surgery will be held on Tuesday, November 3, in Hendon Library from 4pm to 5pm and also on Thursday, November 5, at Chance, 2 Rickaby Street, from 3pm to 4.pm. Councillor Barbara McClennan will be in attendance.

Rhyme Time is held in Sunderland City Library on Wednesdays from 10am to 10.30am. Join the library team for a fun, lively session of songs, rhymes and actions.

Councillor Michael Mordey will hold a Hendon, East End and part of Grangetown ward surgery on Fri day, November 6, in Hendon Library from 5pm to 6pm.

Foyle Street Writers meet on Thursdays in Sunderland City Library from 10am to noon.
