A NEW helpline and website are being launched today to mark International Missing Children’s Day (IMCD).
It is hoped they will help the thousands of children who go missing every year by providing a 24 hour support service.
The free phone line, 116 000, gives missing youngsters and their families access to advice and support around the clock.
The website, www.missingkids.co.uk, features appeals on missing children, information for children who are thinking of running away, and details on what relatives and carers can do if a child goes missing.
Lynne Featherstone, Minister for Equalities and Criminal Information, said: “Missing children and their families are vulnerable, and IMCD reminds us of the role we all have to play in protecting and supporting them.”
