Help for dementia sufferers and their carers in Seaham

Have your say

SISTER sessions are extending a welcome to those who suffer from dementia and their carers.

Seaham Day Centre, which looks after people with the condition, from its base in Bradbury House, runs both outreach cafes.

The meetings are held at the Jubilee Centre in Seaham from noon until 3pm on the first Wednesday of the month and at Hetton and Eppleton Community Hall from 6pm to 9pm on the third Monday of the month.

The free events help those with memory problems and also offer carers, family and loved ones the chance to come together to socialise with others experiencing the same difficulties.

The gatherings include quizzes, entertainment and bingo, with occasional speakers.

For more information call the day centre on 581 0880.
