Helicopter rescue at Easington Beach

Hartlepool Coastguard Rescue Team were called to Shippersea Bay in Easington Colliery following reports of a casualty with a suspected broken leg on the beach.

Hartlepool Coastguard Rescue Team were alerted by Humber Coastguard along with Seaham Coastguard, at 12.51pm on Sunday, February 16.

The casualty was given first aid and put on a stretcher.

Conditions were very challenging due to the bad weather. So the casualty was taken by helicopter to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough for treatment.
