Sunderland Mind celebrates four decades helping thousands of Wearsiders

A LIFELINE service is celebrating 40 years of helping people.

Sunderland Mind, based in Norfolk Street, helps thousands of people from Wearside who have mental problems each year.

A gala dinner will be held at Rainton Meadows Arena in Houghton on Saturday, October 25, as part of the celebrations.

Tickets are £35, but can be bought for a discounted £30 by quoting “SM40” when ordered.

Project manager Dorothy Gardiner said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Sunderland Clinical Commissioning Group, Big Lottery, Sunderland City Council, Northern Rock Foundation, Gentoo and a special thank you to all the individuals who have run, swam, baked, cycled or any other form of fund-raising people have done for us. We could not do this without your support.”
