STAFF at a city dental surgery are stripped for action thanks to big-hearted Wearsiders.
Oliver’s boss Michael Oliver and dental nurse Joane Barella are taking part in an eight-day medical expedition to Morocco with charity Dental Mavericks.
Michael has already visited the village of El Jebah and appealed through the Echo for donations of football shirts to give to local children. The response was overwhelming.
Teenager Jack Morgan was so touched by the story that he visited the Durham Road surgery to hand over several of his treasured footie shirts.
Joanne said: “We are extremely grateful to everyone who took the time and trouble to drop off their shirts. We are delighted with the response from the public.
“We have had more than 50 shirts handed in, which is absolutely brilliant and will make a lot of children very happy.”
