SUNDERLAND’S first ‘Recovery College’ has been launched.

Recovery Colleges are springing up across the country to support those with mental health issues and their carers.

The college in Sunderland – run by mental health and disability care provider Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (NTW) – will run a range of free recovery educational courses for people who have experienced mental health problems, their friends and family.

The NTW has launched the first prospectus for November and December. The recovery college has been supported by Sunderland City Council, voluntary groups, charities and clinical commissioning groups. For more details visit the NTW website and search for Sunderland Recovery College.
