Ronnie Moore is closing in on another new loan player for Hartlepool United.

The Pools boss is looking to beat the closure of the loan deadline today by signing a young talent.

Moore already has four loan players in his starting XI, defender Adam Jackson, midfielders Jake Gray and Kal Naismiyth and striker Mikael Mandron.

Jackson's deal from Middlesbrough elapses after the FA Cup tie at Salford a week tomorrow though Gray, Naismith and Mandron will be at the club until January 3.

"I'm hoping to try to do a bit of business before the deadline today.

"It will be a young kid because we've tried everywhere for experience.

"With a bit of luck,it will another player to add to the squad, but I'm just waiting on a phone call for that one.

"Whether he plays against Oxford on Saturday when we get him in will be something we have to look at."

Pools should have an almost full squad to select from against the promotion chasers at Victoria Park.

Michael Duckworth would have played at Accrington on Tuesday after overcoming a calf injury while defender Scott Harrison, who would have missed the match at Stanley with a sore knee, trained at the Racecourse Ground in Durham this morning.
