Golf: Houghton pair in top eight of Durham Union Members' Spring Singles

Whickham’s Darren McPherson was a convincing winner, scoring 42 stable ford points, four ahead of John Mackenzie (Blackwell Grange) and the host club’s Martin Whelan.

Houghton’s John Reed was fourth on 37 points with club-mate Darren Jones one point worse off on 36. Ramside’s Darren Gibbons was 10th on 36 points.
