The girls brought some glamour to the city centre setting when they struck a pose for Scott’s camera.

Photographs from the shoot will be judged at the forthcoming Miss Sunderland final at Rainton Meadows Arena and the winner will be fast-tracked to the final eight.

Scott and Korinne Willmott, from Scott Spock Photography, have been photographing the contest since it was brought back to life three years ago and have been giving the girls some catwalk training.

Scott said: “Very few of the girls have any experience. We work with professionals on a regular basis, but it still amazes Korinne and I to see how far some of these young girls are willing to push themselves to achieve great images.

“It’s a huge confidence boost for a lot of them to take part in the shoots and it’s fab to see the change in them from nervous, almost shy girls into uber-confident women aware of body posture.”

Miss Photogenic 2011 has been staged to give the girls experience of a professional shooting environment ahead of the big final on May 20.

Thirty girls, aged 17-24, will strut their stuff in the final in the hopes of becoming Miss Sunderland and representing the city at Miss England.

As well as getting her hands on the Miss Sunderland crown, the winner will scoop a host of prizes including a modelling contract with Glam R Us and a £1,000 model portfolio with Scott Spock which will include a studio and location shoot.

TV presenter and weathergirl Philippa Tomson will be hosting the final event along with Miss Sunderland organiser Simon Robertson.
