A TEENAGER was rescued from a park after falling and hurting her knee as she tried to climb over a fence.
A group of youths had been in Woodhouse Park in Grampian Way, Peterlee, after it had been locked up for the night on Sunday, with the incident involving the 13-year-old girl happening as they tried to scale its fence.
She slipped and hurt her knee and could not stand on her leg.
Firefighters used cutting equipment to bend brackets on the gate to get in. The crew carried out a first aid assessment, with the girl’s parents later arriving on the scene to take her to the drop-in centre at the town’s hospital.
