The original 1959 Cadillac ambulance has been upgraded to a 1980’s Cadillac Fleetwood Station Wagon for the new film, which stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth.

The car that will be parked in Gateshead is an identical copy of the one used during filming of the latest film.

Sue Peel, general manager at Odeon Metrocentre, said: “The long-awaited release of Ghostbusters promises to be one of this summer’s biggest hits. Parking the Ecto-1 at Odeon Metrocentre is the perfect way for us to share the excitement with fans ahead of the big release.”

She continued: “The Ecto-1 is such an iconic car and we can’t wait to welcome guests young and old to enjoy this legend of cinema.”
