Garden plan to curb pollutants

A COMMUNITY garden could replace derelict land as part of a £1million scheme to tackle pollutants.

A former lorry garage and coach park in Easington is at the heart of the project to take back industrial sites and improve the environment for residents.

Durham University is working with Easington Colliery Regeneration Partnership and Durham County Council on the project, which aims to improve the soil and turn the plot into a blossoming garden.
