Festive fun at Fulwell Mill on December 19 was well attended thanks to the effort of Sunderland North Business Centre staff and volunteers. The children enjoyed seeing Santa and receiving a gift plus all the fun craft activities.
Wearside Field Club will meet on Tuesday, January 12, at 7.30pm in Fulwell Community Centre, Chapman Street, Fulwell. Speaker will be Ann Cooper talking about An Icelandic Cruise. The next walk will be on Saturday, January 16, which will be a Fatfield circular, led by Alan Denham. Meet at Park Lane Interchange at 10.30am. All are welcome.
The Parish of Monkwearmouth invites you to a Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving to remember loved ones in All Saints’ Church on Wednesday, January 13, at 1pm followed by light refreshments in the Vestry Meeting Room with a opportunity to talk or sit quietly in church. Service will last about 20 minutes.
Looking for a new interest? St Andrew’s Snooker Club would welcome new members over 18 years of age. The club is situated at the west end of Priestman hall, up two flights of stairs. A Fulwell ward surgery will be held in Fulwell Library, Dene Lane, on Saturday from 10.30am to 11.30am when one of the ward councillors, Howe or Francis, will be in attendance. Also Councillor Beck will be in attendance from 10am to 11am.
An exhibition of Railway photographs taken by the late Ian S Carr is taking place at Monkwearmouth Station Museum. To complement this exhibition Neil Sinclair will give a talk “Ian S Carr – A Wearside Railway Photographer” at Sunderland Museum on Saturday from 2pm for Fosums members. Visitors are welcome, pay £1 on the door.

Balletbefit adult classes are held in Fulwell Community Centre, Chapman Street (off Sea Road), Fulwell. It is fitness with a difference and suitable for all abilities and there is no need to have previous dance experience. Sessions take place on Sundays from 10.30 am to 11.30am and Mondays from 7pm to 8pm. Wearside Photo Imaging is a small camera club of photographic enthusiasts, who meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month at Fulwell Community Association, Chapman Street, Fulwell, at 7pm.
