The Senior Citizens Christmas party held at the Mill View Club was well attended and much enjoyed by the local people and guests, the Mayor & Mayoress Councillor Barry and Mrs Carol Curan. A mince cobbler with mashed potatoes and peas was served with a sweet mince pie to follow also a glass of sherry. Thanks go to Mill View Club for the venue, entertainment by Happy Daze Band, organised by Fulwell Councillors Margaret Beck, Bob Francis and George Howe and Fulwell Community Association, which applied to Community Chest for funding. Fulwell Neighbourhood Watch who collected prizes for a free raffle supplied by Sea Road area traders, a very good joint effort, thanks to all.

An exhibition of Railway photographs, taken by the late Ian S Carrk, is on display at Monkwearmouth Station Museum. To complement this exhibition, Neil Sinclair will give a talk “Ian S Carr – A Wearside Railway Photographer” at Sunderland Museum on Saturday, January 9, at 2pm for Fosums members. Visitors are welcome, pay £1.

Holy Communion on Christmas Day at All Saints’ Church will be held at 10am. All are welcome.

A two-day football course will take place in Monkwearmouth School, for boys and girls aged four to 14, on December 29 and 30 from 10am to 3pm. Cost is £20. To book, ring or text Paul on 07736942638.

An all-age service of Carols with Blessing of the Crib will be held at St Andrew’s Church, Roker, on Christmas Eve at 4pm. Holy Eucharist on Christmas Day will be at 9.30am. All are welcome .

Fulwell Art Club still has it work on display at Fulwell Library. Work is for sale.

Christmas Midnight Eucharist will be held at St Peter’s Church, Monkwearmouth, on Christmas Eve at 11.30pm. Holy Eucharist on Christmas Day will be at 10.45am. All are welcome.
