A full house enjoyed The Players concert at Sunderland Volunteer Life Brigade Watch House recently. Popular and Christmas songs and joke telling interludes were followed by hearty brothand dainty cakes. There was carol singing at the end, which was well received.

Sunderland North Community Business Centre will be presenting Festive Fun At Fulwell Mill on Saturday. Time slots are 12.15pm-1.45pm or 2.15pm-3.45pm. Go along to the Elves Workshop; Write A Letter To Santa and enjoy Christmas crafts. There will also be a pecial appearance from Santa. Cost £5 is per child, which includes a presen. Adults go free. To book a place, ring 0191 5373231. All children must be accompanied by a parent or carer over 18 years. Photographs will be taken at the session. Refreshments will be available.

A carol service with Holy Communion will be held on Sunday at All Saints’ Church at 10.30am.

The Salvation Army will be leading the Christmas Carols at the Blue Bell on Thursday at 6pm. There will be complementary mince pies and mulled wine, organised by Fulwell WI. Thanks to Sainsbury’s for refreshments. All are welcome.

A two-day football course will take place in Monkwearmouth School, for boys and girls aged 4 to 14 years, on December 21 and 22 from 10am to 3pm. Cost is £20. To book, ring or text Paul on 07736942638.

A coffee morning will be held in Roker United Reformed Church, Sidecliff Road, on Saturday from 10am to 11.30am. Admission is £1 to include coffee and biscuits.

Seaburn Men’s Probus Club will meet in Roker Methodist Church, at the junction of Lonsdale Road and Roker Park Road, tomorrow at 10am. New members would be very welcome to see what the club has to offer.

Sunderland Philatelic Society will meet in the hall of Roker Methodist Church, on the corner of Roker Park Road and Lonsdale Road, tomorrow at 7pm. Bourse – sell your unwanted stamps or buy new ones. For further information, call Fred Greener on 3852196.

Fulwell WI Christmas party will take place tonight in Fulwell Community Centre at 7.15pm.

Roker Crafts will meet from 1pm to 3pm in Roker Methodist Church hall on Friday for a party and quiz. Ring 5495878 for further information.

A parish celebration and carol service will be held in St Andrew’s Church, Roker, on Sunday at 4pm. All are welcome

Fulwell Neighbourhood Watch Senior Citizens Christmas party will take place in Mill View Club on tomorrow at 1pm. Tickets are available from Smith’s Shoe Services, Sea Road.

Fulwell Art Club has an exhibition in Fulwell Library. Some of the paintings are for sale, which could be a special Christmas gift.

Nine Lessons and Carols will be held in St Peter’s Church, Monkwearmouth, on Sunday at 6.30pm. All are welcome.

Sunderland Public Libraries offers a home delivery service providing books and audio items to customers who are unable to access a library themselves, either due to age, ill health, disability or long or short term mobility problems. St Andrew’s Snooker Club would welcomes new members over 18 years of age. The club is situated at the west end of Priestman hall up two flights of stairs. Fulwell ward surgery will be held in Fulwell Library, Dene Lane, on Saturday from 10.30am to 11.30am when one of the ward councillors, Howe or Francis, will be in attendance. Councillor Beck will be in attendance from 10am to 11am.
