A Christmas fair will be held in St Andrew’s Church, Roker, on Saturday, November 28, at 2pm in the Priestman Hall, Talbot Road. Stalls will include cakes and pastries, preserves, tombolas, raffles, toys and Christmas gifts, bric-a-brac, accessories, children’s games and refreshments.

Monkwearmouth Local History Group will meet on Monday, December 7, at 2pm in the Fellowship Room at Roker Methodist Church, Roker Park Road. Speaker Phil Curtis will talk on Victorian Sunderland. Mince pies will be served.

The Players present the ever-popular December Nights, an evening of seasonal song at the Watch House, Pier View, Roker, on December 3 and 4. There will be a bar and raffle. Tickets are £7, available from Rose on 0191 5292651.

A fair will be held at Roker United Reformed Church, Sidecliff Road, on Saturday from 2pm to 4pm. Lots of stalls and refreshments.

Fulwell Neighbourhood Watch meeting will take place on Thursday, November 26, at 6pm in Fulwell Community Centre, Chapman Street.

North East Art fair will take place in the Seaburn Centre, Whitburn Road, on Sunday from 10am to 4.30pm. Admission is free. Local artists will be showing and selling original art as well as prints and greetings cards. It is hosted by North East Picture Framing. Ring 5653018.

All Saints Mothers’ Union will meet in the vestry meeting Room on Monday, November 23, at 2pm Speaker will be the Rev Paul Child.

Sainsbury’s Fulwell held a Children’s Halloween party and raised £430 its charity ‘Pawz for Thought. To date £1,300 has been raised for the charity.

Fulwell WI meets tonight in Fulwell Community Centre, Chapman Street, at 7.15pm for a talk on Women of Egypt. Table top.

Saint Andrew’s Snooker Club would welcome new members , aged 18 and over. The club is situated at the west end of Priestman hall up two flights of stairs. It is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6.45pm to 10pm, also Wednesdays from noon to 4pm. For further details, ring Peter on 5482437 or Brian on 5292179.

A coffee morning will be held in Fulwell Methodist Church on Saturday from 10am to 11.30am. Mince pies, gifts for sale and raffle.

Sunderland Philatelic Society will meet in the hall of Roker Methodist Church, on the corner of Roker Park Road and Lonsdale Road, tomorrow at 7pm. For further information call Fred Greener on 3852196.

Seaburn Men’s Probus Club will meet in Roker Methodist Church, at the junction of Lonsdale Road and Roker Park Road, tomorrow at 10am.

WI Ladies that lunch at Hylton College on Friday starts at 11am with tea and coffee and homemade biscuits. Then Dot will talk about the benefits of plants on the skin. There will be a spot prize and quiz followed by a two-course meal. Cost is £11. For further details, call Melanie on 07809434561.
