GENEROUS pals are set to help people thousands of miles away experience better lives – but they need your help.
Jordan Haynes and Anthony Anderson are to embark on projects with Raleigh International next year.
The charitable organisation’s volunteers help to develop areas less fortunate than the UK.
Jordan, of Seaham, is set to jet off to Costa Rica, in Central America, with Anthony, from Ryhope, due to go to Borneo, in South Asia.
Both will be away from Wearside for 10 weeks, but they say they are relishing the challenge.
“I don’t really know too much about exactly what it is I’ll be doing when I’m there, but I’m looking forward to it,” said Jordan, 20.
“There’s community work and wildlife work involved, and it’s all about sustainable development, so it’s worthwhile.” Jordan and Anthony need to raise £200 each towards their adventures, with further money needed before they fly out.
They are holding a fund-raising day at Ruba, in Green Terrace, Sunderland, where Jordan works. It takes place tomorrow, starting at midday, and will feature live entertainment and raffle prizes.
