Six young people have been in France for their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.
The six travelled to the Pyrenees mountains and spent months fund-raising to finance the trip.
Elle-Lea Hall, Helena Robbins, Rebecca Duffy, Olivia Duffy, Thomas Kind and Callum Silvester, all from Chester-le-Street, completed sponsored runs and sold photographs of local scenery to raise the money.
They travelled to France with youth workers Ashleigh Downey and David Hardy who both work for Durham County Council’s One Point service.
They all attend Chester-le-Street Youth Project, which works with One Point to deliver the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Ashleigh said: “I am pleased, proud and overwhelmed by the efforts of the young people
involved in the expedition.
“It was an amazing opportunity and has provided the whole group with memories which will last a lifetime.”
