Foster care van hits the road

A MOBILE office is taking to the streets to raise awareness of the need for foster families.

Independent fostering agency Foster Cares will be at Dalton Park, Murton, today and tomorrow.

The mobile office will then return to the region on May 25 and 26, when it will be outside The Bridges, in Sunderland.

Anyone interested in becoming a foster carer can drop in for information.

Louise Cook, fostering development social worker at Foster Cares, said the van is a great way to get people interested in foster care.

The 37-year-old, from Roker, said: “The van is all about getting people to people, rather than them having to come to us.

“Fostering is a great opportunity to help some of the most vulnerable children and provide them with a safe environment to reach their full potential.

“It’s a chance to make a difference in a child’s life.”
