Held at Ramside Hall Hotel and Golf Club near Durham City, the event will see teams of guests take part in 18 holes of championship golf alongside former sporting legends.

A Sunderland AFC team will be led by Dick Malone, who played for Sunderland during their 1973 FA Cup victory, while a Newcastle United side will be hosted by former Magpie Alan Shoulder.

The two teams of former players will compete against each other in a bid to score the winner’s title and raise funds for the charity.

The highlight of the day is a chance to win a Citroen C1 Car with a hole in one, donated by Sunderland dealership Town Centre Citroen.

Along with the golf competition, the day will include a light breakfast, pre-dinner drinks reception, and an evening meal.

The legends will present the prizes to the winning team, individual former player, the longest drive and nearest the pin.

There will also be raffles auction and a mystery door prize.

Chris Sopp, dealer principal of Town Centre Citroën & DS said: “TCC are delighted to continue their commitment to support local charities with the sponsorship of the Hope 4 Kidz golf day.

“Golfers will have the chance to win a brand new Citroën C1 3 Door Furio with a hole in one on the 15th hole.

“Hope 4 Kidz do a fantastic job in making the lives of disadvantaged young people so much easier and we are proud to be able to give them our support – good luck to everyone taking part!”

Viv Watts, chief executive of Hope 4 Kidz, added: “This is a great opportunity to raise more funds for those who so desperately need our support within the community.”

All proceeds from the golf day will go to Hope 4 Kidz, which helps children and young people who suffer severe illness and disabilities, along with those facing poverty or abuse by providing medical, learning and leisure equipment.

Team entry is £200 and registration commences at 9am for the four ball.
