“I finished my degree in Crime Scene Science in 2008 and started work shortly after as a Crime Scene Investigator, working in the Sunderland area,” said Kerry.

She moved on after being redeployed as a result of spending cuts.

Writing had always been a private pleasure, but a meeting with a psychic persuaded Kerry, from Darlington, to go pro.

“He asked why I hadn’t been published because he could see me signing books in Waterstones,” she said.

“I opted to go back to uni and do my Masters in creative writing. I used the first 20000 words of my first novel as my dissertation and was picked up by Caffeine Nights Publishing who published the novel in April. Since then I’ve been signed for a three-book deal by Bloodhound Books and book two, I’ve Been Watching You, is due out in June.”

Kerry recently did her first signing at Waterstones in The Bridges: “It was fantastic,” she said.

“There was a lot of local interest.”

With Deadly Intent is available from Amazon and prequel short story Escape can be downloaded as an e-book.
