A FORMER care home has been on fire for the sixth time in recent months, and twice in two days.

The building in Dormand Villa, Station Town, was found alight at 10.30pm on Monday.

Firefighters were also called out at 11.15pm on Tuesday, after five separate fires were found in different rooms at the partially-demolished home.

Firefighters from Peterlee put out the blaze and are now carrying out an investigation into the cause of the incidents.
