Food still beating man in city challenge

Have your say

A MAN v Food-style challenge still remains unbeaten.

Extra-hungry customers at Jus’ Deliciou’S in Sunderland city centre have been trying to win themselves a free meal – by polishing off a giant platter of food.

Diners must munch through four feet of hot dogs in white buns, plus a pound in weight of chips – in under 20 minutes.

About 65 hungry Horaces have attempted the challenge since it launched in April, but no one has managed to clear their plate.

The dish changes every month, or until someone finishes it.

The belt-busting challenge echoes hit US TV show Man v Food, in which host Adam Richman travels to different cities taking on eating challenges.

Jus’ Deliciou’S owner Julie Elstob, 44, from Town End Farm, said: “We are not encouraging people to eat like this on a regular basis and we’ve also got a lot of healthy options on the menu, like salads, smoothies and jacket potatoes.”
