Five-car smash causes delays on A19
Drivers using the A19 faced heavy delays after a five-car shunt this morning
The accident, on the northbound carriageway between Sheraton and Castle Eden, happened shortly before 9am.
One witness who passed the scene just minutes after the accident said : "One car was across the carriageway and there were bits of debris everywhere.
"There did not seem to be any serious injuries."
The road was fully reopened shortl after 11am.
