Fire investigators probe school blaze

A STORAGE unit at a school for pupils with special needs was destroyed by fire.

Fire crews from Sunderland and South Shields were called to Oakleigh Gardens School, in Cleadon, at 7.42pm on Saturday, to put out the blaze in an annexe building, which is used as changing facilities,

The storage room in the building was destroyed and the rest of the annexe suffered moderate smoke damage.

Fire officers are investigating the cause of the blaze.
