Fire at disused building Murton

Firefighters tackled a fire in the roof of a disused building in Murton.

Two crews from Peterlee and one from Seaham were called to the empty building in Glebe View at around 3.45pm on Sunday.

At 4pm firefighters requested the aerial ladder platform from Durham station and it was confirmed the roof was well alight.

Two firemen wearing breathing apparatus and two jets tackled the blaze.
