Fire crews tackle chimney in dangerous condition

Fire fighters have scaled a Wearside shop to tackle a chimney in a dangerous condition.

Crews from Marley Park in Fulwell and Gateshead have been at the scene making the gable end and chimney of a property safe in Annie Street, Fulwell for over an hour.

The alarm was raised with the fire service shortly before 4pm today.

Fire fighters have cordoned off the building and have used an aerial ladder appliance as part of the operation.
