Fire crews called to bedroom blaze in Durham

Durham Fire Brigade were called to a bedroom fire in a house on Durham Road this morning.

Two pumps attended the small fire at 9.55am and were able to put out the blaze by 12pm. Crews used one breathing apparatus; a hose reel jet; a positive pressure ventilation fan and a ladder. No one was injured but significant damage was caused by the blaze to the bedroom and smoke damage to the other rooms. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
