THUGS stole a pensioner’s mobility scooter before setting it alight.
The thieves snatched the scooter from a storage cupboard at Robert Wheatman Court in Grangetown.
It was found burnt out in an alleyway just yards away from where it was taken some time on Sunday.
Acting Neighbourhood Inspector Lee Butler, said: “This scooter was a lifeline to its elderly owner, who has now lost some level of independence.
“It appears to have been stolen in a simple act of vandalism by mindless individuals.
“We will not tolerate this behaviour.”
