Two campaign groups battling to save greenbelt land from potential development say they will carry on with their fight,
Both Keep Boldon Green and Keep Cleadon Green were launched on the back of the council’s strategic land review.

It is after residents from both villages realised green belt land had been earmarked for development as part of the local authority’s future plans.
A deadline to submit objections passed yesterday. However, both groups say they will continue their campaigning until the land is saved.
Jillian Duncan from Keep Boldon Green said: “The strength of feeling and how quickly our campaign grew shows the strength of feeling the people from the village has against these plans.
“When we started, we had no idea how big the campaign would be and how much support we would receive - but it’s been overwhelming.
“We have had people researching the land, the wildlife and the impact on biodiversity and on the environment as well as alternative sites.”
Surinder Kaur from Keep Cleadon Green said: “We will keep fighting, keep campaigning until we know the land is save.
